Hubby has been supportive enough to join PinoyFoodista ‘s February Cooking Challenge, Strawberries in a Sandwich knowing how much work my friend Pia and I put into it 🙂 He had this idea of a sweet strawberry sandwich combining his favorites and of course, I helped him with the preps and assembly.
He loves bananas with Nutella, and strawberries with peanut butter and he had this great idea of combining all of these in a sandwich. At first I’m a bit worried at how things will come out but in the end, I loved every last crumb of his sandwich. It’s so good and easy to make, anyone who loves Nutella and peanut butter should give it a try! 🙂
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread
- Nutella
- Peanut butter
- Strawberry preserves/jam
- Fresh strawberries
- Half a banana
Get a slice of bread (hubby used store-bought sweet bread slices) and smother it with a tablespoon of peanut butter. Get the other slice of bread and smother it with a tablespoon of Nutella.
Slice the strawberries and banana. You can design your strawberry slices into little heart-shaped pieces like I did 🙂 Hubby’s getting worried that his sandwich will look too “girlie-girly.” 😛
Next, layer your strawberries and bananas on one slice of bread.
Top with the other slice of bread and we’re ready to grill.
Grill the sandwich on both sides in a panini grill. If you don’t have one, you can use an ordinary pan grill just make sure to press the sandwich using the butt of a heavy pot 😛
Hold your horses as the assembly isn’t over yet 🙂
If I didn’t help hubby prepare the sandwich, he would have eaten it at this point. Then again, the reason I was in the kitchen with him is because I have a mission to make his sandwich “girlie-girly!” Mwahahaha 🙂
Therefore, divide the panini in two and put a dollop of strawberry jam on top. Then, decorate with fresh strawberries.
Voila, there’s your super easy yet super delish Strawberry-Banana Nutella & PBJ Panini!
super cute 🙂
